Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2011 @ Parkdale

Parkdale was special, this Nuit Blanche.

We've decided to highlight this neighbourhood with a fair share of bumps and rough corners. It holds a blossoming art community, evident by new local art collectives and mushrooming coffee stops. With the Dufferin Underpass now open, thousands of people from downtown and beyond finally made the pilgrimage west to Parkdale.

Small side streets were filled with trucks, galleries on wheels, fully decked out with an assortment of sound and light installations. There were musicians on the street playing impromptu gigs on sidewalk corners and mystery corn dog vendors. In all, a satisfying discovery of good things to come.

Check out our video below for a true blue point of view experience getting on an art truck. This was our favorite one. White Loop, produced by Nick Hutcheson, Mara Marxt and Eva Schindling.

White Loop explores and infiltrates the collective unconscious of a neighbourhood through the noise generated by 100 dream stories. Check out their page here : White Loop
