Open Roof Festival is "Feeling Good"

Open Roof Festival (or #ORF13) kicked off on Thursday, June 20th down at the Moonview Lot on Queens Quay East with an acoustic performance by The Sheepdogs followed by a quick Q&A with John Barnard, the director of night's screening of The Sheepdogs Have At It.

The lot was packed as spectators took in the performance by The Sheepdogs, a four-man band from Saskatoon that's rocked the North American music industry off their feet since winning the Rolling Stones cover competition back in 2011.  Pair this incredible energy with a beer from Amsterdam Brewery or a glass of Fielding Estate wine, a massive crepe from Crepe It Up or a sandwich from Fidel Gastro, and you've got a "theatre" full of satisfied fans for ORF's kick off party. And don't worry! ORF also has your munchies covered with popcorn and treats for purchase during the film (...the best part? The buffet of popcorn flavour shakers available!).

In its fourth year, ORF has Thursdays stacked with great music, movies, and beer.  The not-for-profit film festival promotes independent artists from across Canada within a unique environment that comes with a complimentary and beautiful view of the city as the sun sets.

This Thursday, June 27th, you can catch The Secret Disco Revolution with a performance by Michael Rault at 175 Queens Quay East.  Mango Pinton and Animal Liberation will be bringing the eats so be sure to add this event to your calendar!  Follow ORF and Hot Docs on Twitter for a chance to win tickets to this week's show:
Check out ORF's awesome lineup of music and movies for the rest of the summer! Their picks are, without a doubt, top notch, and being outside on a Thursday night, cold beer in hand, you can't complain.
