We joined up with the Globe and Mail's Report on Small Business Team for a panel discussion, where young business owners networked with guests Michael Hyatt of BlueCat Networks, Sammie Kennedy of Booty Camp Fitness and Peter Fowler of SIR Corp. Hosted at the Oasis Lounge in the PwC tower, it was a fairly informal get-together, with attendees coming from various backgrounds in tech, manufacturing, finance and the creative industries.
We'd say the mix was diverse, but this time we want to concentrate on the similarities of the group that evening. Active listeners with a fair amount of questions for the panel, the room smelt like ambition and gung-ho. Questions centered around topics that dealt with adversity, breaking into the market and maintaining your competitive edge. A question in particular from Anthony Rinella of SkedX was this, "In moments of extreme adversity, what do you do to overcome obstacles that seem insurmountable?"
The answer is reserved for those who attended, but click here to find out more about how you can sign up for future Report on Small Business sessions.
