Why did we decide to feature some guy in some salon? Because we support Torontonians doing what they love.
Daniel obviously cares about his work, evident by our illicit over-the-shoulder cell photos. Besides the fact that he calls his clients by pet names like "Darling" and "Love" [which we adore], his haircut is something wonderful. He took into consideration lifestyle habits, the need for convenience and personal preference, which many stylists forget to ask about. It was light, flowed well and looked good even before the blow-dry. Also of mention is his massage during the shampoo. Yes, we like massages.
Unlike the "quick cut" branches with women that bark at you to shuffle up quickly for a hacksaw session, then throw you out unceremoniously after you leave a 25% tip, at the salon you get a cup of tea/coffee, they keep your bags away safely, hand you your gown instead of tossing it and make you feel like a civilized member of society. When you factor in tax, tips and attitude, its still only a $10 difference between getting a real haircut versus a mistake you have to grow out of.
Massive style tip alert! A plus at heading to Toni & Guy? Daniel made us promise to tell you about their free bang trimming service, which applies for every haircut within a month after the original appointment. Simply call, mention your last appointment and come in, no fuss no muss. This is an everytime, everywhere sort of deal, so make use of it, young padawans.
Working up delicate layers is an art. Don't expect a marvelous haircut in 20 minutes, or for it to last more than a week. Instead, we suggest you book 40 minutes off for a wash and cut that grows out well, makes you look good and keeps for up to 3 months if you're being frugal. Along with their free bang trim which extends it's freshness, go check them out and tell Daniel we sent you :)
