Net Change Week

Net Change Week (NCW) is Canada’s premier event on social tech for social change. The week-long series of events featured training workshops, evening programming with guest speakers such as Alastair Wilson, CEO of SSE in the UK, lab sessions with Ladies Learning Code. Guests took the opportunity to network amongst techies, creatives and thought leaders.

In its fourth year, Net Change continues to be committed to digital literacy and pushing the boundaries of technology’s potential to yield greater impact. With 4 main events hosted at the MaRS Discovery District, attendees hunkered down at Social Media for Nonprofits and  Ladies Learning Code, both selling out every single seat.

A highlight of Net Change Week was our interview with Heather Payne of Ladies Learning Code. Joining the Net Change lineup for the first time, Ladies Learning Code was led by Mark Reale of BNOTIONS, who along with approximately 50 volunteer coders, provided a learning space for HTML and CSS newbies to feel comfortable learning beginner-friendly programming.
