FREE and intimate:
Young Lions Music Club &
Humble Empire hosted the 2nd Annual Live Near Bellwoods
CMW Living Room Sessions, held at
The Toronto Institute For The Enjoyment Of Music.
We were there on the second day, listening to stripped down performances from some of Canadian Music Week's most engaging acts in a room barely bigger than your bedroom.

A 100% free session with no wristbands required, people were being pulled off the Queen Street sidewalk by awesome tunes by
Army Girls,
Brett Caswell & the Marquee Rose,
Jess Hill,
Ewert & the Two Dragons,
Royal Canoe and femme rocker chicks
Rouge.

For bands that are usually plugged in with a tonne of loops, distortion and general electronic wizardry, it was a treat to listen to their raw sound, in particular, Royal Canoe. Many thanks goes out to Bobbie Kimberley of Young Lions Music Club and Humble Empire for hosting such a great gig.
