Now entering its 8th year, Massive Party – co-chaired by Hughene Acheson and Laura Adams – is a mash of posh, punk, edge and tech. We got lucky with an interview where Hughene and Laura dished their hopes for the night... one of them being a vibrant twitter feed for #thefutureofartis. Check out what people have been tweeting for #thefutureofartis, it looks like they weren't disappointed!
The last year Bruno Billio will be acting as Art Director, the night’s festivities were spread over the AGO, surrounded by open bars and flying hors d'oeuvres. People were gorgeous, with obvious kudos to those who dressed in Victorian finery. Leather and lace just works.
Our only wee gripe? It seemed that although the party was in full swing, not many people knew what in fact, was going on. There were dance areas both above and below ground, but it would have been nice to have party ringmasters instead of surly bouncers and overwhelmed event photographers. They should be outlawed and replaced with well dressed aristocrats on stilts, who could have ushered us all into a happy centralized mob bent on dancing and making Massive Party what it is known for: being massive.
Pushing past service snafoos, the AGO was still the place to see and be seen. Haters will be haters, lovers will be loved, and #thefutureofartis forever a thin line between the two.
