Located at 853 College Street, Okey Doke Tattoo is a cozy little shop home to Eric, Alex Snelgrove and Kyle Hollingdrake. The shop has been open for about 2 years, and it seems to be a huge success. The day of my appointment, I had walked in and all three artists were busy with clients, with more waiting. The walls are covered in flash art, gothic art and stencils of their tattoos and just straight up feels like a cool place to hang out.
Eric was very relaxed and professional, told me he was confident that he could easily fix my tattoo. I was a little apprehensive at first with the openness of the shop especially since I needed to take my pants off to get my thigh tattooed, but it was actually more relaxing having people around to distract myself from the pain being inflicted on me. Everyone was very laid back, cracking jokes and discussing everything from paying their taxes to their collection of motorcycles to
JLo on In Living Colour.
After three hours, my tattoo was finally complete and I couldn't contain my excitement. Eric had gone over the initially estimated time, but wouldn't charge me extra, and on top of that had transformed my uneven outline into a piece of art. I will be eternally grateful for his help and I will definitely be going back for my next tattoos.
They accept walk-ins and appointments and be sure to check out their website http://theokeydoketattooshop.com/ to view Eric, Alex and Kyle's portfolios.
P.S. Don't forget to bring a treat for their shop dog Rolo. She'll love you forever.
