LG Fashion Week F/W 2011

Fashionable people are brave souls. Always looking one season forward, we've come to the Fall/Winter 2011 season at LG Fashion Week. TSR, along with Toronto's best dressed make it to the runways, melting snow and the occasional spring shower be damned!

Backstage at LG Fashion Week 2011
The venue was as chic as ever, with long translucent curtains cascading from the roof. Say what you'd like about the gossip circulating LGFW. It is true, there are many brands missing on sponsor and designer tables, and not quite as many media people or TV cameras as there were before. However, you can't deny that attending LG Fashion Week is glamorous. You can test out those new stilettos on swanky red carpets, and it doesn't hurt to rub shoulders with a model or two. We also got goodies from L'Oreal Paris, for which we are eternally grateful.

This year we enjoyed a slight twist at the venue, with one full size runway and a small, more private studio which gave LGFW a dramatic edge. We at TSR think that a simple, contemporary runway is more complimentary to the sort of urban fashion that sells here in Toronto. At the end of the day, we're supporting local talent, and perhaps we should just go back to caring about what they create, instead of the bells and whistles that the words "Fashion Week" denotes.
