We attended a very privé showing of Bruno Billio's current exhibit, Stacked: A 15 Year Retrospective. Bruno is one of the hottest artists in Toronto; He has his studio at The Gladstone Hotel, and is Artistic Director of the Massive Party, probably the hardest ticket to get in the city. Hosted at the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Massive Party is a fundraiser for the AGO which has seen enormous success with Bruno at the reigns.
Bruno's current exhibit, Stacked: A 15 Year Retrospective is a culmination of his most iconic work. He has exhibited since 1992, and his work has been shown in Milan, Venice, London and NYC. If you are a big fan or a student of success, this is the show to go to. Tucked in the De Luca Fine Art Gallery, the exhibit shows his artistic progression and experiments in different media. His contemporary spin on objet trouvé as well as his knowledge of interior design makes it a very enjoyable viewing. You can see that Bruno means for his work to speak loudly where some fear to tread lightly.
Stacked: A 15 Year Retrospective has a virtual tour which you can check out. Bruno is prolific, and has a new showing at his studio almost every month in addition to his public exhibits. Private showings are available by contacting his artist representative Corrado De Luca at www.delucafineart.com. ~GBrydson
