The Artist Project 2012

The Artist Project marks its fifth anniversary this year with over 200 independent contemporary artists. This is no normal art fair. We've seen some of Toronto's rarest and most innovative works there. TAP has grown dramatically through the years – from 90 to over 200 artists. More than 12,000 visitors are expected to attend in 2012. For four days (March 1-4, 2012), cocoon yourself in the art world and wear flats to spare yourself the agony. Special features such as Art Chats, the Untapped Emerging Artist Competition and expert-led tours also give visitors an insider’s view on new trends in the art world.

Our favorites from opening night happen to all be sculptural in nature, with notable works from Tong Shen, Omar Aljebouri, Lana Filippone and Dana Filibert. We also enjoyed a theatrical performance by Clara Venice and her Theremin.

As we said last year, try taking it all in over a few days. It is too big of a show to be viewed at once, and one not to be missed.
