ProArteDanza Season 2012

For four nights only, catch the world premiere of Expire, performed by ProArteDanza. A youthful, vibrant example of contemporary dance and ballet, you see obvious polish under the artistic direction of former National Ballet of Canada dancer and renowned choreographer Roberto Campanella and Robert Glumbeck,

ProArteDanza "is created to showcase the best choreographers and dancers from both ballet and modern dance backgrounds." and the athleticism of it's cast is obvious and sumptuous; beautiful lines cast in sinew and muscle.

Without giving too much away, the play of colour, air, screens, light, and the voices of it's performers make it more engaging than one would expect from a dance. Young talent, under the watchful eye of aged expertise, perform dramatic, animalistic movements and sounds to accompany the duets of Handel's Lascia Ch'io Pianga and Beethoven's 9th – 1st Movement.

Go for the familar, but stay for the new.
